Dr Tim Metham is currently a lecturer in Chemistry for Initial Teacher Education at the University of Sussex, where he set up and ran the pioneering BSc in Natural Sciences. This course aimed to establish an intellectual bridge across the conventional divide between the arts and the sciences, with students undertaking rigorous scientific learning while also discovering the history of science and exploring the impact of its many disciplines.

Before moving to Sussex University, Tim taught Chemistry in secondary schools for 15 years including The City of London Boys School, where he was head of department.
